WHY WE ARE HERE

The adult education system In America has evolved into an 800 billion dollar industry.  We use the words evolved and industry because traditionally the roots of education was not money.  Education was always meant to bring both educators and students together. Education was for the students to learn and for the educators to teach, for fulfilling each other’s life's vocation.

The true roots of adult education are between students and educators, with absolutely no intermediatary. Where the adult student, either by means of their own power of self-analyses or by means of outside guidance, look within themselves to establish an enriching relationship with both themselves and society.  Where educators can freely actualize and teach to the highest level of student’s abilities without restrictions that so often arise in the present ‘educational’ system.  The roots of adult education are meant to fulfill both the student’s and educator’s life vocation within themselves and society. 

Today's educational system allows no such allowances. Today's system is so strongly structured that from the moment of your birth to the moment that you pass on in this world the only choices are to conform or be left out. What do we mean by this?  Simply put, we look outside ourselves for the answers that we should be looking within ourselves.  We ask ourselves, “where do we fit in within the world”. Or worse, we say, “how do I fit in?” when we should be asking ourselves, “What is my vocation?”, and “What is my relationship with society?”.

Each of you is unique. Each of you has not only a vocation to fulfill for yourselves but also a gift to be shared within society.
